RIVALRY WEEK AND LAST WEEK TO MAKE A BOWL IF YOUR TEAM HAS 5 WINS. Historically you could almost take all the Dogs today and tomorrow and make $ : Take Ole Miss +27 vs Miss State, Take Michigan +19.5 vs OSU, etc. But let’s use our brains and make some good decisions.

(1) 9:00am Black Friday. Take 5-6 Wisconsin +1 at home vs 6-5 Minnesota. Originally after losing the close one last week to Penn State I was all over Minnesota. In this situation withe the Badgers needing this game today to get into a bowl game we have to go with the home team. Teams are close statistically, but the Badgers can run and control clock. We saw 3 weeks ago how tough Wisconsin was at home against Oregon when the Ducks escaped with a 16-13 win. Take the Badgers +1.

(2) 4:30 pm Black Friday. Take 6-5 Nebraska +5.5 on the road at 7-4 Iowa. This is a classic matchup. Both teams have played well this season and both have done it with improved QB Play. Riola for the Cornhsukers has gotten better every week. MeNamara (from home town Reno) may come back today for Iowa at QB (out for 3 weeks) . Both teams play terrific defense. I just like the +5.5 in this rivalry. Take the points and the win.

(3) 9:00 am Saturday. Lay -7.5 on 8-3 Illinois @ 4-7 Northwestern. Illinois 3 losses are to Oregon, OSU, and Minnesota. Last week Northwestern lost 50-6 to Michigan a team that can barely pass. Altmyer at Illinois has passed for 2373 yards and has 20 TD’s and 3 Int’s. Lausch at Northwestern has 1427 yds and 5 TD’s and 6 Int’s. Passing, Rushing, Defense all favor Illinois, and to top things off this is a revenge game as Northwestern beat Illinois last year in a shocker at home. Take the fighting Illini today in this state rivalry.

(4) 9:00 am Saturday. Lay -3.5 on 7-4 Louisville @ 4-7 Kentucky. Another mismatch statistically particularly in the passing game. Tyler Shough for Louisville has passed for 3067 yards and has 23 TD’s and 6 Int’s. Vandagriff for Northwestern has 1593 yds and 10 TD’s and 8 Int’s. We also get two other bonuses. This is a revenge game for Louisville as Kentucky won a shocker last year. Also Louisville is playing for a bigger bowl game and Kentucky playing for pride. The hell with Pride, lay the points on the Cardinals.

(5) 12:30 pm Saturday. Take 5-6 Auburn +11.5 @ 8-3 Alabama. Speaking of rivalry’s this is it!. Auburn is playing for everything today, bowl game eligible, revenge from Milroe Miracle ( no time left) from last year, and for state pride. Alabama is already our of the CFP with 3 losses and their coach DeBoer is still learning about the pressure of replacing Saban. Yes Bama may have a slight edge in some stats, but +11.5 in this game is just too many points. Take the Tigers and enjoy a close one.

(6) 12:30 pm. Take 6-5 Fresno State + 9 @ 4-7 UCLA. This may be a home game for UCLA but you won’t know that because their will be more Bulldog fans at the Rosebowl than Bruin fans. Stat wise the Bull Dogs are a solid team both passing and running. UCLA has shown some life lately, but Fresno is playing for bowl position and shooting for a nice 7-5 season, UCLA is again playing for pride. I don’t see how UCLA can beat any team by 9. Take the points.

10-1 Notre Dame laying -7.5 at 6-5 USC seems lite on paper. Notre Dame defense is solid and they cannot afford to lose this game or they are out of the CFP. The Trojans are playing better and could keep this close.

10-1 Miami @ 8-3 Syracuse getting +10.5 in the Carrier Dome is a lot. Miami with Ward at QB keeps pulling games out. The Orange might be worth a small play here.
