The Sports Executioner is putting a lot of work in on these games. I have games I like, games, I have a lean, and games that I have an opinion which I will keep to myself. Navigating the Opt-Outs in these minor bowl games is the trickiest.
4:00 pm Thursday NEW ORLEANS BOWL . Lay -3.5 on 8-4 Ga Southern vs 9-3 Sam Houston. This is basically an “Opt-out” Play. I don’t know who will play for Sam Houston with 8 starters leaving. Passing is much better at Ga Southern. Sam Houston has a great D..but not sure who is around.
9:00 am Friday CURE BOWL. Lay -5 on 10-3 Ohio vs 9-3 Jacksonville. Ohio has better D, better WR and slight edge in motivation. Both teams have lost their head coaches, and players. Like the look of this Ohio team the last five games.
5:00 pm Friday. CFP GAME @ SOUTH BEND. Take 11-1 Indiana + 7 @ 11-1 Notre Dame. Everyone loves Notre Dame. QB,WR, Passing, favor Indiana. Notre Dame defense is legit but Indiana plays good D also. No one has seen Indiana coming and candidly Notre Dame has played 5 bowl games and went 4-1, Indiana played a couple and was 1-1. I love the coaching of the Hoosiers. Let’s take the touchdown.
9:00 am Saturday . CFP GAME @ HAPPY VALLEY. Take 11-1 SMU +8.5 @ 11-2 Penn State. SMU has edge with a terrific running back Smith, and edge in passing. PSU has pretty big edge in defense which is a concern allowing only 16ppg vs 24 ppg allowed by SMU. -8.5 points is a lot for a Penn State vs any good team. -8.5 points ia like laying -10, which I think is too many for this dangerous offensive team. Take the points with SMU.
1:00 pm Saturday. CFP GAME @ AUSTIN TEXAS. Lay -12 on 11-2 Texas home vs 10-3 Clemson. Clemson has a good QB, and a good running back but that is it. Texas is pissed having lost two games to Georgia and that was it. Texas Defense against the pass is #1, and against the rush #15. Texas allows 12 ppg vs Clemson allows 23 ppg. Defense is key. Texas rolls.
5:00 pm Saturday. CFP GAME in COLUMBUS OHIO. Small play. Take 10-2 Tennessee 1st half only +4 @ 10-2 Ohio State. Tennessee can run well, so they will try and slow the game down in 1st half. Defense favors the Buckeyes and I a see their depth having an advantage as the game goes on. Again +4 points is more than one field goal (might need 7) so we will take the points in 1st half. Lots of pressure on OSU to roll in this game, so make this a small play.
