SE: Horrible weekend. Shake it off. There are 19 bowl games between Monday and Saturday. We have selections on 10 with 3 HATCHET PLAYS.

(1)-Monday 12-23-24, 11:30am* FAMOUS IDAHO BOWL ESPN.,Take +3.5 on pesky 7-5 Northern Illinois University vs 6-6 Fresno State. NIU beat Notre Dame earlier in the year. They have a better QB (because FSU QB Keene transferred out) , and RB. NIU also only allows 18 ppg vs 24 ppg Fresno State. This game should be close, so take the points!

(2) Tuesday 12-24-24, 5:00pm *HAWAII BOWL, ESPN. HATCHET PLAY #1 . Lay -3.5 on 7-5 San Jose State University vs 6-6 South Florida. QB, WR, Passing Yards favors SJSU. Rushing game favors SF. Always take passing over rushing in bowl games. Neither team can stop anyone so this game could go high (total is 62.5). SJSU is familiar playing in Hawaii, S Fla has to fly across the world to get to this game. Let’s roll with the Spartans. This is the only college football game for two days!

(3) Thursday 12-26-24 11:00am *GAMEABOVE SPORTS BOWL, ESPN (Above what?) Take 7-5 Toledo + 7 (buy 1/2 point) vs 7-5 Pittsburgh . Toledo QB Gleason has 22 TD’s/7 Int’s vs 17/7 Holsten for Pitt. Toledo only allows 21 ppg vs 26 for Pitt. Very few Opt outs for Toledo vs. Pitt. Also Pitt lost their last 5 games in a row (Toledo 2-3). Too many points, and I don’t think Pitt cares to be here after winning 7 games in a row then losing last 5. Take the points.

(4) Thursday 12-26-24 2:30pm *RATE BOWL, ESPN. Take + 7 on Rutgers vs 7-5 Kansas State. These teams are very close stat-wise. It’s Big-10 vs Big 12 (Big 10 is stronger). Greg Shiano the coach for Rutgers is 6-2 in bowl games and will have his team ready. Take the points again

(5) Friday 12-27-24 9:00 am *ARMED FORCES BOWL, ESPN HATCHET PLAY #2 . Take +3 on 8-3 Navy vs 6-6 Oklahoma. Normally no team would have a worse passing game than Navy, except this year and Oklahoma. Huge rushing and passing advantage for Navy, and they average 32 ppg vs Okl 24 ppg. Navy has “Zero Opt Outs” (can’t they are committed, ha!). Navy thrilled to be here, Oklahoma just wants the game to be over.

(6) Friday 12-27-24 12:30pm *BIRMINGHAM BOWL (Can you guess where it’s played?) ESPN. Take 6-6 Vanderbilt +3 (buy 1/2 point) vs 7-5 Georgia Tech. Pavia (17 TD’s/4 Int’s) the QB for Vandy is a miracle worker (they beat Alabama). This game could be close, and low scoring. I will take Pavia to win this game outright.

(7) Friday 12-27-24 4;00pm * LIBERTY BOWL. Take +2 on 8-4 Texas Tech vs 6-6 Arkansas vs 6-6 Arkansas, ESPN. Morton the QB for TT has 27 TD’s/8 Int’s. Plus their star running back Brooks has 1505 Yds rushing and 17 TD’s! TT scores 38 ppg vs 30 ppg Ark. Ark does have a better defense which is a concern. Arkansas lost 3 of last 4 and TT won 3 of 4 and beat West Virginia, Oklahoma State, and Iowa State!!!! They almost won 4 of 5 as they lost to TCU 35-34. Take the +2 on the team that should be favored. Texas Tech.

(8) Saturday 12-28-24 8:00am. Are you ready for this? THE FENWAY BOWL ESPN !. Lay -3 on 6-6 University of North Carolina (Hello Bill!!!) vs 8-4 U-Conn. Two basketball powerhouses playing in a football bowl. UNC’s QB Criswell has passed for 2450 yds vs 1410 for U-Conn Criswell. UNC played a much tougher schedule and overall is a better team. With Bill Belichick coming in to watch the game it’s a big tryout for all current UNC Players! Let’s go Tar Heels!

(9) Saturday 12-28-24 12:30 pm. POP TART’S BOWL ( The Trophy is 75 lbs. and has a working toaster in the top to put the Pop Tarts in!!!) ,ABC. HATCHET PLAY #3. Lay -3 on the 10-2 Miami Hurricanes (a team I hate) vs the 10-3 Iowa State Hawkeyes. Make sure Cam Ward does not Opt Out..so far so good. Cam Ward is a beast of a QB, 4100 yards, 36 TD’s/7 Int’s. Becht for Iowa State is great also 22 TD’s/9 Int’s, 3200 yards, but he is no Cam Ward. ISU has a great pass defense, Miami great run defense. I see the Hurricane’s scoring scoring their average 44 ppg and winning by 10.

(10) Saturday 12-28-24 4:30 pm. ALAMO BOWL. Take 10-2 BYU +5.5 vs 9-3 Colorado. This game has all glitz for the Buffalos with Deon Sanders, Shadeur Sanders, and Travis Hunter caring more about their image than the game. All business for the BYU Cougars who have a terrific running game, efficient passing game and are 18th in the country in pass defense against the pass happy Buffalos. I see a close game so we like the points here.

12-26 VENTURA BOWL. Bowling Green is the better team playing Arkansas State. -7.5 just was too big a number for SE .

12-27 LAS VEGAS BOWL. Hard to know what USC is bringing to table vs Tex AM laying -3.5. Something tells me , Lincoln Riley needs this win
